About Us
Bimba was born from a quiet dream of fabric, identity, and freedom.
Founded in Bengaluru by friends Pooja and Manjunath with no formal background in fashion but a deep sense of style. Bimba grew from the belief that clothing should express, empower, and endure. Our vision is simple: create timeless pieces rooted in tradition yet stitched for modern life.
In Kannada, Bimba (ಬಿಂಬ) means reflection: a form, an essence. It also refers to woven cloth. That duality defines us: garments that mirror the wearer's inner self while honoring the craft that shapes them.
Our Craft
Every Bimba piece is rooted in Indian craft traditions. Our Bagru block-printed kurtis draw from a centuries-old technique practised by artisan families in Rajasthan: each pattern hand-stamped with carved wooden blocks, one press at a time. Our Dabu-printed indigo kurti uses a mud-resist process where natural clay paste is applied by hand before dyeing, creating the characteristic resist pattern that makes every piece slightly different. And our Khata cotton styles are made from a handwoven textured fabric that holds its shape through the day and gets softer with every wash.
These are not trends. They are living craft traditions, and wearing them is a small act of preservation.
Our Approach
Every Bimba piece is thoughtfully designed and responsibly made with skilled artisans and independent units. We focus on slow fashion: limited collections, intentional releases, and quality over quantity. Our fabrics are sourced with care — our silhouettes are effortless, adaptable, and made to last. Designed in Bengaluru. Made with intention.
